Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and infusion medications safely and accurately
• Perform IV starts, port access, and central line care with confidence
• Operate and monitor infusion pumps and respond to infusion-related issues
• Assess patients, monitor vital signs, and detect changes in condition promptly
• Provide compassionate patient education on treatments, side-effect management, and self-care
• Document all care and treatments clearly and thoroughly in Cerner EMR
• Coordinate care with oncology providers and the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless treatment
• Assist with treatment preparation, chart review, lab order coordination, and insurance authorization

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Colorado license preferred or eligible)
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience
• Current OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification required
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required
• AHA BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Experience with Cerner EMR and strong clinical documentation skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Chemotherapy administration and safe handling practices
• Infusion therapy and infusion pump operation
• IV therapy, IV starts, port and PICC access, and central line care
• Patient monitoring, assessment, and early detection of adverse reactions
• Patient education, symptom management coaching, and compassionate communication
• Familiarity with outpatient infusion clinic operations and interdisciplinary coordination
• Insurance authorization workflows, treatment preparation, and lab order coordination
