Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (day) or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (night). Night-focused assignment noted with every-other-weekend requirement and occasional standby; floating to Postpartum every other week (EOW) as scheduled.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled labor and delivery nursing care, monitoring patients through active labor and delivery
- Continuously assess and interpret fetal status using Advanced Fetal Monitoring (Fetal Link) and escalate concerns
- Circulate for C-sections and support the OR team; scrub experience is a plus
- Deliver couplet care for mother and newborn, maintaining safe transitions to postpartum
- Perform neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and respond effectively to emergencies
- Document care thoroughly and accurately in Cerner EMR
- Follow AWOHNN guidance and maintain appropriate patient ratios (e.g., 2:1 laboring, 1:4 couplet)
- Collaborate with OBs, anesthesia, respiratory therapy, pharmacy and ancillary staff to coordinate care
- Float to Postpartum as scheduled and support unit needs while preserving patient safety
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to submit in CA) required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWOHNN or equivalent)
- C-section circulation experience required; scrubbing experience preferred
- COVID-19 vaccination required
- Experience with Cerner EMR and Fetal Link preferred
- Comfort working 12-hour shifts, every-other-weekend schedule, and floating to Postpartum
- Ability to care for high-risk obstetric patients (pre-eclampsia, insulin-dependent diabetes, substance abuse)
Education
- Active RN license required (state licensure)
- BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced fetal monitoring and Fetal Link proficiency
- Neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and urgent newborn care
- C-section circulation and OR workflow familiarity
- Couplet care and postpartum management
- High-risk obstetrics knowledge: pre-eclampsia, insulin-dependent diabetes, substance abuse care
- Cerner charting and Phillips telemetry experience
- Strong communication, teamwork, and escalation skills
- Triage and labor/triage bed management
