Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert labor and delivery care for high-risk antepartum and intrapartum patients
• Perform continuous fetal heart monitoring and interpret tracings to guide care
• Scrub, assist, and circulate for C-sections and support vaginal deliveries with sterile technique
• Deliver postpartum couplet care (maternal and newborn) when staffing requires
• Serve in the newborn role at delivery when needed and support emergent neonatal needs
• Chart thoroughly and efficiently in Epic to maintain accurate patient records
• Collaborate with anesthesia, respiratory, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to ensure safe outcomes
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality for a high-profile patient population

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of labor & delivery or perinatal RN experience
• Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Required certifications: AWHONN Advanced or NCC EFM (NCC EFM acceptable in lieu of AWHONN)
• Required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, FHM (AHA certification for ACLS/BLS where applicable)
• Comfort and competence working in the OR during C-sections and in postpartum couplet care
• Ability to float to postpartum and work every-other-weekend

Knowledge & Skills

• High-risk pregnancy monitoring and management
• Fetal heart monitoring (FHM) and electronic fetal monitoring interpretation
• Perioperative skills for C-sections including scrub and circulate roles
• Vaginal delivery assistance and sterile vaginal exams
• Epic electronic health record proficiency
• Strong clinical judgment, situational awareness, and interdisciplinary communication
• Comfort with newborn role at delivery and basic neonatal care
