Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert intrapartum and antepartum nursing care for high-risk laboring patients
• Monitor fetal heart tracings continuously and escalate changes in fetal status promptly
• Assist in and circulate for C-sections in the OR, and provide support in PACU when needed
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and support vaginal deliveries, including newborn role at delivery
• Provide postpartum couplet care (mother and newborn) and float to postpartum when required
• Chart accurately and timely in Epic, ensuring complete documentation of patient care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, social services) to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and privacy, especially for high-profile patients

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience (Perinatal/travel experience required)
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred; NCC EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN
• ACLS, BLS, NRP required (AHA certification for ACLS/BLS where indicated), plus FHM/NCC EFM as noted
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Comfortable assisting/scrubbing/circulating in C-sections and providing newborn role at delivery
• Ability to float to postpartum and provide couplet care when needed
• First-time travel nurses are not accepted for this opening

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in electronic charting using Epic
• Strong skills in fetal heart monitoring (EFM/FHM) and high-risk pregnancy monitoring
• Experienced with C-section assistance (scrub and circulate) and vaginal delivery support
• Skilled in sterile vaginal exams and intrapartum/antepartum procedures
• Newborn resuscitation and NRP competent
• Comfortable working in OR/PACU settings and assisting with anesthesia workflows
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and discretion for a celebrity-sensitive patient population
• Ability to manage triage and multiple high-acuity patients (unit includes antepartum, triage, and high-risk labor rooms)
