Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare, administer and accurately document prescribed medications to ensure safe patient care
- Start and manage IV therapy, including IV insertion and maintenance
- Perform wound care and dressing changes to promote healing and prevent infection
- Insert and manage catheters with attention to patient comfort and clinical best practices
- Monitor and record vital signs, interpreting measurements and reporting changes promptly
- Adjust and operate specialized medical equipment, interpreting outputs and trends
- Assess patients’ condition continually and report adverse reactions or clinical changes in a timely manner
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — eligible to work in Oklahoma
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience (required)
- NIHSS certification (facility requests this; link provided to complete if needed)
- Current basic life support (BLS) and any facility-required certifications (obtainable if not active)
- Clear work history and permanent address information (facility considers local candidates within 50 miles)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medication administration skills and accurate documentation habits
- Proficiency in IV therapy and IV insertion techniques
- Competence in wound care and dressing changes
- Skilled in catheter insertion and management
- Solid ability to monitor, interpret and report vital signs and patient assessments
- Comfortable adjusting and interpreting readings from specialized medical equipment
- Good communication, teamwork and clinical judgment in fast-paced settings
