Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory medications and deliver therapy via aerosol treatments and metered dose inhalers
• Perform therapeutic modalities and cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing to evaluate and treat patients
• Respond immediately to rapid responses, arrests, and STAT situations providing airway maintenance, ventilation support, and CPR
• Set up and maintain oxygen systems and related equipment according to protocol
• Maintain artificial airways and provide chest compressions and life support when needed
• Document patient care and interventions accurately in the Epic EMR
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize respiratory care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and equipment use

Qualifications

• Active RRT credential through NBRC (required)
• Minimum 2 years of RRT clinical experience (required)
• Active Michigan license (LARA) showing state licensure (required)
• Current American Heart Association certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (required)
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required)
• Completed skills checklist current to within 1 year and 2 supervisory references within the last 2 years (required)
• Previous travel work experience preferred
• Ability to respond to rapid responses and emergency situations calmly and effectively

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven expertise in airway management and oxygen therapy
• Skilled in aerosol therapy, metered dose inhalers, and inhalation medication delivery
• Experience performing cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing
• Comfortable with emergency response and resuscitation procedures, including CPR and life support
• Familiarity with Epic EMR for documentation and order management
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills in high-acuity settings
