Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare, administer and accurately record prescribed medications in a timely manner
- Perform wound care and dressing changes with attention to detail and infection prevention
- Insert and manage urinary catheters and initiate IV therapy when indicated
- Adjust and monitor specialized medical equipment and interpret recorded measurements
- Closely monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in condition
- Recognize and promptly report adverse reactions to medications to the care team
- Document assessments and interventions clearly to support continuity of care and patient safety
Qualifications
- Active Oklahoma RN license or compact license (Oklahoma required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience (required)
- BLS (AHA) certification (required)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIH) certification (required)
- Travel nurse experience is preferred
- Current, verifiable work history and skills checklist up to date within the last year
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/ASN or BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medical-surgical nursing skills including patient assessment and medication administration
- Proficient in IV therapy, IV insertion and catheter care
- Competent in wound care and dressing changes
- Skilled at monitoring and interpreting vital signs and clinical measurements
- Ability to recognize and report adverse reactions and escalate care appropriately
- Comfortable working with specialized medical equipment and documenting care accurately
- Team-oriented communication and ability to collaborate across disciplines
