Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate perioperative care for pre-op, intra-op and PACU patients
• Serve as the OR circulating nurse to maintain patient safety and smooth surgical flow
• Provide on-call PACU coverage, managing post-anesthesia recovery for pediatric and adult patients
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the surgical team to coordinate care and handoffs
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with surgical policies and protocols
• Anticipate needs during procedures and ensure availability of necessary supplies and equipment
• Promote a positive patient experience through compassionate, family-centered care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Montana or a Compact State
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience required
• Current ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications required
• Experience in perioperative nursing, OR circulating and PACU care
• Comfortable providing pediatric (PEDS) perioperative and PACU care
• Ability to work scheduled day shifts and participate in rotating on-call coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing knowledge including sterile technique and surgical safety
• Proficiency in pre-op assessment and post-anesthesia recovery care
• Familiarity with pediatric perioperative and PACU needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize, think critically and respond calmly in high-acuity situations
• Competence with clinical documentation and basic EMR navigation
