Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity PCU and oncology nursing care with compassion and clinical excellence
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias, responding quickly with emergency protocols
• Administer and monitor IV therapies, central line care, arterial lines, and blood products
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy when certified, following safe handling and monitoring procedures
• Manage non-invasive and advanced respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and HFNC
• Collaborate with rapid response and code teams to ensure timely interventions
• Float between MedSurg and PCU oncology units, adapting to varied patient diagnoses and acuity
• Document thoroughly in Epic and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure appropriate for Ohio
• Minimum 2 years of high-acuity PCU-level or higher experience within the last 3 years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience required for clinical pass
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Oncology credentials preferred: OCN or ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
• Ability to work variable weekends and float across oncology and MedSurg units

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• IV therapy, IV starts, peripheral and central line care including PICC management
• Chemotherapy administration and monitoring (preferred/when certified)
• Arterial line management and ABG interpretation
• Non-invasive airway management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC and tracheostomy care
• Blood product administration and management of PCA/heparin/cardiac drips
• Wound care including Wound Vac, surgical drains, and post-op mastectomy care
• Infection prevention protocols, isolation precautions, and safe PPE use
• Phlebotomy, feeding tube care and management, and ostomy/drain management
• Use of GE telemetry monitor system and Alaris pumps; strong Epic documentation skills
