Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and document patient status across medical-surgical populations during night shift
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in line with facility protocols
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, utilizing BLS and ACLS skills as needed
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and smooth handoffs
• Perform thorough discharge planning and patient/family education to support recovery and continuity of care
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic and paper charting consistent with facility and regulatory standards
• Adhere to infection control procedures and ensure TB screening compliance

Qualifications

• Active California RN license (required)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Proof of negative TB test within 12 months of contract start date (required)
• Comfort and willingness to work night shifts (no night-shift exceptions per posting)
• Medical-surgical nursing experience preferred

Education

• Valid California RN license required; nursing diploma, ADN, or BSN (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical nursing knowledge and clinical assessment skills
• Proficiency in safe medication administration and IV care
• Ability to manage acute changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately
• Solid documentation practices and attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills for working nights with limited onsite resources
• Familiarity with bedside patient education and discharge instructions
