Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' nutritional status and develop individualized medical nutrition therapy (MNT) plans
• Document thorough, compliant nutrition care in EPIC for both outpatient and occasional inpatient coverage
• Counsel and educate patients, families, and clinical teams on nutrition interventions and management
• Manage a daily outpatient caseload (minimum ~12 patients) and provide consults when covering inpatient needs
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of nutrition care plans and adjust interventions as needed
• Support foodservice operations to ensure diet orders and quality standards are met
• Integrate dietetic services into QAPI and infection control initiatives and participate in quality improvement

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) required
• State dietitian license preferred
• Minimum 1 year of clinical dietitian experience required; 2-3 years preferred
• Experience with EPIC documentation strongly preferred
• Comfort managing outpatient caseloads and providing occasional inpatient consult coverage
• Ability to participate in rotating on-call weekends and remote telemedicine coverage
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

• Enteral nutrition (tube feedings) and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)
• Cancer nutrition (oncology focus: lung, GI, breast)
• Telemedicine for nutrition support and remote consults
• Fluid balance, calorie counts, intake/output monitoring
• Aspiration safety, dysphagia management, and therapeutic diet orders
• Management of diabetes, acute MI, heart failure, renal disease, GI disorders
• Food-drug interactions and medication effects on nutrition
• Developing and implementing nutrition care plans and participating in QAPI
