Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients
• Continuously monitor, assess and document patient physiological status and respond to changes
• Administer medications, advanced cardiac life support interventions and bedside procedures per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Act as first-to-float to acute care floors when unit needs arise, delivering safe patient transitions
• Participate in Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and skills checklist activities
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and required health screenings

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Iowa) or eligible to obtain licensure
• Critical care/ICU nursing experience and comfort managing acutely ill patients
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required or current per facility guidelines
• Willingness and ability to work nights, every third weekend and every other holiday
• Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Skills Checklist
• Ability to pass required health screenings: fit test, Trinity 10 panel drug screen, immunizations and tuberculosis testing

• ICU nursing and critical care principles
• Acute care and hemodynamic monitoring
• Float pool adaptability and cross-unit care
• Advanced cardiac life support and emergency response
• Familiarity with Trinity Specialty competency processes and documentation
• Strong assessment, communication and teamwork skills
