Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver compassionate med/surg care for primarily adult patients and occasional pediatrics across inpatient, outpatient, observation, and swing-bed settings
• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with clinical confidence
• Collaborate closely with the Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead, and Nursing Supervisor to ensure smooth shift transitions and high-quality outcomes
• Lead and support the care team to meet the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and developmental needs of patients
• Document care accurately in the electronic record (Meditech preferred) and communicate clearly with interdisciplinary teams
• Participate in patient education, discharge planning, and care coordination to promote safe transitions

Qualifications

• Active Vermont RN license or multi-state RN licensure required prior to start
• BLS (AHA) required prior to start
• ACLS required prior to start
• Minimum 3 years of acute care experience
• Meditech experience preferred
• Comfort caring for adults primarily; able to manage occasional pediatric patients (this is not a pediatric floor)
• Able to start on 2026-04-29 and upload all required credentials five business days before start

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med/surg clinical skills and acute care judgment
• Proficiency with the Nursing Process and care coordination
• Experience with observation care, swing-bed care, and outpatient workflows
• Familiarity with Meditech (preferred) and electronic charting best practices
• Team collaboration and clear communication across multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize and make timely clinical decisions in a critical access hospital setting
