Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Plant Operations, Environmental Services (EVS), Grounds and Maintenance teams to ensure safe, reliable facility operations.
- Direct and provide supervision (direct and indirect) for approximately 45 FTEs across multiple divisions.
- Oversee preventative maintenance programs and inspect equipment to maintain operational standards and reduce downtime.
- Ensure continuous operation of utility systems (heat, steam, power, gas, oxygen) critical for patient care.
- Enforce regulatory compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS and local building/fire codes; coordinate inspections and corrective actions.
- Manage outside contractors to ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a liaison across departments to assess needs and develop actionable plans that support clinical and operational goals.
- Develop job-specific customer service expectations and training plans; respond to employee and customer concerns in a timely, professional manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 5+ years of personnel management experience
- Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles to diagnose and repair equipment or systems
- Thorough knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC and general building maintenance
- Experience with autoclaving, bio-waste handling, life safety codes and construction phasing
- Willingness to relocate to a rural area (candidate MUST be willing to relocate)
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field (preferred)

- Facilities management and plant operations leadership
- Regulatory compliance (NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS)
- Preventative maintenance planning and execution
- Personnel management and staff development
- Vendor and contractor oversight
- Customer service-focused team training and expectations
- Hands-on mechanical skills: HVAC, boilers, plumbing, electrical and general building systems
- Environmental services operations and bio-waste handling knowledge
