Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver compassionate, comprehensive med/surg nursing care for adult patients
• Assess patients and apply the Nursing Process to make timely clinical decisions
• Provide occasional pediatric assessment and care when needed while maintaining adult focus
• Manage outpatient, observation and swing bed patients as part of a flexible caseload
• Collaborate closely with the Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead and Nursing Supervisor to ensure continuity of care
• Lead and mentor team members during your shift to promote safe, efficient practice
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Participate in credentialing and onboarding activities to ensure smooth start-up

Qualifications

• Current Vermont RN or multi-state RN licensure
• BLS (American Heart Association) required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience
• Flu vaccination required, no exceptions
• Meditech experience preferred
• Able to start on 2026-04-29 and upload all required credentials five business days before start
• Not a pediatric-only position; must be comfortable primarily caring for adults with occasional pediatrics

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong command of the Nursing Process and clinical assessment
• Medical/surgical nursing expertise for adult patients
• Patient care coordination across inpatient, outpatient and observation settings
• Experience with swing bed care and transition planning
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and provide shift leadership
• Proficiency with electronic health records, Meditech preferred
• Excellent critical thinking, prioritization and communication skills
