Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation for critically ill patients, including Drager and Philips V60 ventilators
• Perform ABG collection and analysis to guide respiratory interventions
• Provide thorough patient assessment and airway management, including intubation assist and trach care
• Deliver bronchodilator therapy, high-flow oxygen therapy, and airway clearance procedures
• Respond quickly and effectively to code blue and emergency situations
• Document respiratory care accurately in Meditech and communicate care plans with the multidisciplinary team
• Perform safe patient transport and ensure continuity of respiratory support during transfers
• Support unit quality and safety initiatives with evidence-based respiratory practices

Qualifications

• Active RRT or CRT credential required
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (as stated)
• One year of ICU experience preferred
• Familiarity with ventilator management and advanced respiratory procedures
• Current basic workplace requirements (e.g., vaccinations, background checks) as per facility policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ventilator management and arterial blood gas interpretation
• Experience with Drager ventilators, Philips V60, Vapotherm, and Metaneb
• Skilled in high-flow oxygen therapy, airway clearance, and trach care
• Strong emergency response and code blue skills
• Proficient documentation skills in Meditech
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, team-oriented environment
