Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide age-specific, direct patient care using the Nursing Process with compassion and clinical precision
• Lead and support the ED team by delegating tasks effectively and stepping into hands-on care when census is high
• Manage daily unit flow, coordinate staffing and address scheduling issues including call-outs
• Perform triage duties and ensure timely patient assessment and disposition
• Represent the unit at house-wide bed huddles to optimize patient placement and throughput
• Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and facility policies
• Coach and mentor team members, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — demonstrated ED nursing background
• At least 5 years of ED nursing experience
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred; proven ability to manage staff scheduling and unit flow
• Comfortable stepping into clinical roles during high census or when shifts cannot be backfilled
• Experience with triage and representing the unit in multi-disciplinary coordination (e.g., bed huddles)

• Direct patient care and mastery of the Nursing Process
• ED nursing practices, triage, and age-specific care
• Delegation, team leadership, and staff scheduling
• Unit flow management and bed huddle participation
• Regulatory compliance and adherence to state/federal healthcare standards
