Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and prepare surgical patients in the pre-operative area with thorough, compassionate care
• Provide vigilant post-anesthesia monitoring and timely interventions in PACU to promote safe recovery
• Document perioperative care accurately using EPIC Op-time charting to ensure continuity and compliance
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative team members to coordinate seamless patient flow
• Educate patients and families on perioperative expectations, pain management, and discharge instructions
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate care as needed to maintain safety

Qualifications

• Current CA RN license (required)
• Previous Critical Care experience (required)
• Hospital Pre-op and PACU clinical experience (required)
• Experience with EPIC Op-time charting (required)
• Availability to work 10-hour day shifts with variable early start times

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing fundamentals and patient assessment
• Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) best practices
• Pre-op patient preparation and optimization
• EPIC Op-time charting proficiency
• Critical care principles relevant to perioperative and recovery settings
