Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced respiratory care in the hospital setting to patients across the age spectrum
• Perform and interpret ABGs accurately and act on results quickly to optimize patient care
• Manage ventilators and perform ventilator weaning protocols using best practices
• Assist with intubations and provide critical airway support during emergencies
• Deliver nebulizer treatments, IPPB, CPT and other therapeutic respiratory procedures
• Document patient assessments and treatments clearly in the Meditech system
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Demonstrate excellent patient and family communication to enhance the patient experience

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of hospital experience (special skills/experience requested: 2+ years)
• Experience in ICU, NICU and/or ED (candidates without these will not be considered)
• Ability to draw and analyze ABGs
• Comfort working with all age ranges of patients and providing excellent customer service

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and experience with Servo I ventilator preferred
• Familiarity with I-Stat point-of-care testing
• Experience documenting in Meditech
• Skills in nebulizer therapy, IPPB, CPT and Metaneb
• Strong airway management and intubation assistance skills
• Solid clinical judgment in acute and critical care settings
