Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality oncology nursing care on the K9A Oncology/Women’s Surgical unit
• Assess, monitor and document patient condition using Cerner EMR to ensure safe, coordinated care
• Administer medications and support treatment plans while following unit policies and safety protocols
• Assist with and support occasional procedures such as pelvic exams, echoes and thoracentesis
• Collaborate with RNs, CNAs and the interdisciplinary team to maintain optimal 1:4–1:5 patient ratios
• Serve as a patient and family advocate, offering education and emotional support through treatment journeys
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by being a team player and staying open to learning

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• CNA license noted on the posting (candidates with CNA background may be considered)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience as indicated in the posting
• Chemo certification preferred (candidates with this will be prioritized)
• Comfortable working in med-surg/oncology environments and supporting occasional procedures

• Oncology nursing experience and comfort with cancer care workflows
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR for accurate documentation
• Clinical skills to support pelvic exams, echo assistance and thoracentesis when needed
• Strong teamwork, communication and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to work within established patient ratios and unit policies
