Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care for post-cardiac surgery and cardiac medical patients in the CVICU
• Monitor hemodynamics and titrate vasoactive medications with precision and confidence
• Operate and manage advanced cardiac and pulmonary support devices following protocol
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to create and execute individualized care plans
• Perform thorough assessments, document changes, and escalate concerns promptly to ensure patient safety
• Assist with procedures, line care, and post-op recovery with a focus on evidence-based practice
• Educate patients and families about care plans, recovery expectations, and discharge needs

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in the assignment state)
• Minimum 1 year of CVICU or relevant critical care experience (as listed in the posting)
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if applicable to unit population
• Strong critical thinking and ability to manage complex, high-acuity patients
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills in fast-paced environments

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic assessment, and vasoactive medication management
• Familiarity with post-cardiac surgery care and chest tube management
• Competence with ventilator management and advanced airway care
• Skilled in central line, arterial line, and invasive monitoring troubleshooting
• Proficient documentation and clinical decision-making under pressure
• Ability to collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, and ancillary teams
