Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in the acute care/inpatient rehab setting to determine functional needs
• Develop individualized care plans and measurable treatment goals
• Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions across orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary cases
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care with PTAs, OTs, SLPs, and rehab techs
• Use patient lifting equipment and assistive devices safely to maximize patient independence
• Document assessment, treatment, and progress accurately in Cerner PowerChart
• Communicate evaluation results and discharge planning with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum ~2 years of clinical experience; at least 1 year acute care experience preferred
• Comfortable with acute care procedures and working in a fast-paced inpatient rehab unit
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient/family education and team collaboration

• BS in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and care plan development in acute/inpatient rehab
• Therapeutic supervision and coordination of multidisciplinary care
• Experience with orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary patient populations
• Proficient documentation in Cerner PowerChart
• Safe use of patient lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove), walkers, and gait belts
• Ability to manage 1:1 patient ratios and prioritize caseload effectively
