Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the CVOR, ensuring patient safety and positive surgical outcomes
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team during complex cardiac and thoracic cases
• Operate and assist with robotic-assisted procedures using DaVinci XI, maintaining sterile technique and device safety
• Monitor patients intraoperatively and respond quickly to changes in hemodynamic status
• Perform and document thorough pre-op and post-op assessments and handoffs
• Participate in on-call and call-back duties, arriving promptly when patient care needs arise
• Support quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital protocols, infection control, and safety standards

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license (state RN license preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of CVOR experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience in acute care and perioperative nursing
• Hands-on experience with DaVinci XI robotic systems
• Ability to complete required screenings and competencies (drug screen, TB, vaccinations, Prime skills/checklists)
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities, including occasional weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing principles and sterile processing
• CVOR-specific workflows and instrumentation
• Rhythm interpretation and basic telemetry recognition
• Familiarity with robotic surgical systems (DaVinci XI)
• Strong teamwork, communication, and rapid clinical decision-making
