Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and approve medication orders accurately and efficiently to ensure patient safety
• Perform sterile compounding and supervise technician compounding using Dose Edge verification
• Manage Pyxis and Pak Edge workflows, including first-dose and emergency med box checks
• Provide clinical dosing for vancomycin, aminoglycosides and anticoagulants
• Document medication activities and interventions in Meditech to maintain clear patient records
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians to maintain a high-performing unit
• Participate in pharmacy unit practices and lend your expertise to improve medication processes

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (required)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience (per posting)
• ACLS and BLS preferred
• NICU experience preferred
• Demonstrated experience with sterile compounding and medication verification
• Comfort supervising technicians and working with decentralized inpatient pharmacy models

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Dose Edge for compounding verification
• Experience managing Pyxis and Pak Edge systems
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record
• Strong medication verification and sterile compounding skills
• Clinical dosing knowledge for vancomycin, aminoglycosides and anticoagulants
• Excellent communication and supervisory skills
• Ability to work independently on night shift and handle emergency medication needs
• Detail-oriented approach to documentation and safety processes
