Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, and supervise compassionate nursing care for radiation oncology patients
• Coordinate care planning with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient journeys
• Adhere to universal precautions and infection control policies to keep patients and staff safe
• Work independently with minimal supervision while escalating concerns appropriately
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes clearly and accurately in the chart
• Educate patients and families about treatment expectations, side effect management, and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or ability to obtain licensure in Ohio
• Oncology or radiation oncology experience preferred
• Current BLS certification; other certifications (e.g., ONS) a plus
• Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a clinical setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• Patient-centered care and nursing best practices
• Radiation oncology fundamentals and patient care during radiation therapy
• Infection control and universal precautions
• Care coordination across disciplines
• Clinical documentation and electronic medical record familiarity
• Medication administration and symptom management
• Critical thinking and clinical decision making
