Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour nights per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (schedule variable; may include weekends). Note: orientation includes Mon-Fri dayshift first week and 36 hours on-unit with a preceptor in week two; 12D/N rotating contracts possible and shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage high-acuity PCU and telemetry oncology patients with vigilance and compassion
• Interpret dysrhythmias and respond appropriately, including use of rapid response/code teams
• Administer and manage IV therapy, central/PICC/peripheral lines, and blood product transfusions safely
• Support respiratory needs: manage HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care, and chest tube systems
• Maintain strict infection prevention and PPE protocols to protect patients and staff
• Provide accurate, timely documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Deliver meaningful patient education and compassionate family-centered care for oncology diagnoses
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed and contribute to a flexible, team-first environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure for practice in Ohio
• Certifications required: BCLS (BLS), ACLS, and NIH (NIHSS) as listed
• Minimum: 2 years clinical experience preferred (oncology preferred but not required)
• Must meet experience requirements within the last 3 years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience required for clinical pass
• Proven experience with telemetry and PCU/high-acuity patient care
• Comfortable with Epic charting and interdisciplinary communication
• Able to float to similar or lower-acuity units and work variable weekend coverage

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• BCLS/BLS, ACLS and NIH certifications required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation (GE telemetry familiar)
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and med-surg telemetry workflows
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• IV therapy, vascular access, central line and PICC care, and blood product administration
• Heparin protocols, cardiac drips management (and titration where applicable), and PCA pumps
• Respiratory support skills: HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, chest tube management, tracheostomy care
• Feeding tube care, port access, and wound care / wound vac familiarity
• Strong infection prevention, PPE use, and patient fall mitigation strategies
