Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients on admission and throughout their stay using the nursing process to ensure safe, high-quality care
• Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the Post Surgical/Medical-Surgical and Orthopedic unit
• Administer IV medications, IV therapy, and blood/blood components according to policy and clinical standards
• Involve patients and caregivers in individualized care planning and update plans as conditions change
• Monitor and assess patient status continuously and escalate concerns promptly
• Apply and demonstrate competency in restraints and seclusion procedures while providing compassionate care
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (state licensure required)
• BLS certification required
• Competency in restraints and seclusion with validation by the employing agency
• Experience administering IV medications, IV therapy, and blood/blood components
• Medical-surgical and post-surgical nursing experience; orthopedic experience is a plus
• 1 year of previous nursing experience preferred
• Note: Applicants who are previous employees of St. Mary's, or with actions on license or disqualifying background hits, will not be considered
