Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 3x12-hour shifts (Day/Night): Day 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; Night 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Block schedules with required weekends (Saturday/Sunday for day shifts; Friday/Saturday for night shifts). Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period (minimum 4 per 4-week block).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced cardiovascular ICU care including hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management to complex adult patients
• Manage invasive lines and devices such as Swan-Ganz/PA lines, IABP/balloon pumps, Impella and temporary pacemakers with precision
• Interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and initiate appropriate emergency responses and interventions
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, as well as manage IV therapy and blood product administration
• Provide care for post-cardiac surgery patients, assist with procedures, and support patients on ECMO and VADs when needed
• Document comprehensive patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory therapy, PT, social services and rapid response teams
• Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as required, supporting unit staffing and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of Ohio (required)
• BLS and ACLS required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Minimum ~2 years of Cardiac ICU/CVICU experience preferred
• Proven skills in IV start, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring and conscious sedation
• Experience with balloon pumps, IABP, Impella, LVAD/RVAD, ECMO and CRRT/CVVHD is highly desirable
• Ability and willingness to work block schedules, weekends and float within the health system
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine is not required per facility guideline

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiovascular critical care and post-cardiac surgery management
• Hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz/PA lines
• Ventilator management, ABG interpretation and care of ventilated patients
• Cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and emergency response
• Management of temporary mechanical circulatory support (IABP, Impella, VADs) and ECMO familiarity
• CRRT/CVVHD and renal replacement support knowledge
• Central line, arterial line and PICC management; blood product administration
• Proficient Epic documentation and electronic charting workflows
• Ability to titrate complex drips and manage sedation/paralytics
• Strong interdisciplinary communication and patient advocacy skills
