Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate nursing care to students and school community members
Assess and triage health concerns promptly and accurately
Administer medications and treatments according to orders and policies
Document clinical findings and interventions clearly in the health record
Coordinate with school staff, families, and providers to support student health
Educate students and caregivers on health, safety, and chronic condition management

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; additional pediatric certifications a plus
Comfortable working in school health settings and collaborating with educators
Strong clinical judgement, dependable, and professional bedside manner
Willingness to work per diem shifts, including 12-hour day coverage

Education

Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric assessment and basic emergency response skills
Medication administration and documentation best practices
Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting
Excellent communication with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Time management and the ability to prioritize in a busy school health environment
