Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform routine histology tasks such as embedding and microtomy with precision
• Run and interpret immunohistochemistry (IHC) and special stains to support diagnoses
• Operate digital pathology systems and Epic Beaker for accurate specimen tracking and charting
• Maintain and operate Roche instrumentation and follow lab safety protocols
• Document work thoroughly and communicate results clearly to the lab team
• Participate in department orientation and ongoing quality improvement efforts
• Support weekend or holiday staffing when needed to ensure continuous patient care

Qualifications

• Certified Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) via ASCP required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of histology experience; 3 years preferred
• Hands-on experience with routine histology workflows: embed, microtomy, IHC, special stains
• Familiarity with digital pathology and Epic Beaker (LIS/EMR) preferred
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to travel within a 60-mile radius for orientation and assignment requirements

Education

• Associate's degree preferred
• HT/HTL certification through ASCP required
• BLS (AHA) required

• Epic Beaker LIS/EMR proficiency
