Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate C-sections in the operating room and coordinate with anesthesia and surgical techs
• Provide high-quality labor and delivery care for high-risk obstetric patients
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart tracings using GE Corometrics and act on concerns
• Titrate IV drips such as oxytocin and magnesium sulfate safely and according to protocol
• Deliver attentive postpartum care and support lactation and recovery needs
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, escalate concerns to APPs or Neonatology as needed
• Participate in unit orientation and serve as a reliable resource on shift

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for submission in the 60-mile radius
• Minimum of 2 years of high-risk Labor & Delivery experience
• Demonstrated ability to circulate C-sections in the OR
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) and NRP certifications
• Comfort titrating oxytocin and magnesium sulfate drips
• Experience reading and interpreting fetal monitoring strips independently
• Proficiency with EPIC charting preferred
• Willingness to self-schedule, float to Postpartum and cover weekend/holiday shifts

Education

• Active RN license required (state licensure eligible for submission)
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• High-risk Labor & Delivery and acute inpatient obstetric care
• Postpartum patient assessment and care
• Operating room circulation for C-section procedures
• Titration and management of IV drips (oxytocin, magnesium sulfate)
• Electronic fetal monitoring (GE Corometrics) interpretation
• EPIC electronic charting and documentation
• Familiarity with AWHONN guidelines and unit ratio practices
• Experience working with surgical techs and interdisciplinary teams
• Call/standby experience and flexible scheduling
