Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: 06:30 AM - 06:30 PM (day) and 06:30 PM - 06:30 AM (night); self-scheduling managed by the manager; includes weekends (4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care in a Level 1 Trauma ICU for adults and teens (>15 years)
- Titrate vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedatives and antiarrhythmics safely and accurately
- Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation and advanced respiratory equipment
- Interpret telemetry strips and use Draeger centralized monitoring to detect and respond to arrhythmias
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team during high-acuity events including sepsis, ARDS and cardiac arrest
- Perform procedures and monitoring including A-lines, CVP, Swan-Ganz, IABP/Impella support and ICP monitoring (training available)
- Contribute as a charge nurse when assigned and support patient care techs and unit flow
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license eligible for submission
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of recent critical care/ICU experience
- Driver's license required at submittal (used to verify 50-mile radius eligibility)
- No license or background hits — clean background and licensure required
- Not a first-time traveler (must have prior travel/contract experience)
- Ability to pass unit orientation exam (open-book) with a 90% score
- Comfort with EPIC charting and computerized documentation
Education
- Active RN license required; BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical thinking and prioritization in fast-paced trauma ICU settings
- Hands-on experience or ability to learn: mechanical ventilation troubleshooting and high-flow oxygen therapies
- Familiarity with titration of drips and vasoactive medication management
- Telemetry interpretation skills and familiarity with Draeger monitoring systems
- Basic familiarity (or willingness to be trained) with CVP, A-lines, Swan-Ganz, IABP, Impella, EV-1000 and ICP monitoring
- Sepsis, ARDS, MODS and post-resuscitation care knowledge
- Team-player attitude, excellent communication and a positive bedside manner
