Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and manage emergency patients across a high-volume ER (125–140 patients/day) with professionalism and speed
• Provide advanced cardiac and trauma care including STEMI/ACS recognition and initial management
• Operate and manage ventilator care and complex respiratory support in collaboration with RT
• Perform timely assessments, initiate appropriate interventions, and coordinate with ED physicians and mid-levels
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with IV teams, lab services, pharmacy, and ED technicians to streamline patient care
• Serve as a dependable team member on nights, supporting charge nurses and assisting with patient flow

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (able to submit license or willing to wait)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (ER experience strongly preferred)
• Required certifications: TNCC, PALS, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proven competency with Epic charting system
• Prior completion of at least one travel assignment (required)
• Comfort working in high-acuity, fast-paced emergency settings with 3-4:1 patient ratios

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma acceptable
• BSN not required (BSN Preferred status: No)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and trauma care expertise
• Cardiac care skills including STEMI/ACS recognition and initial interventions
• Ventilator management and respiratory care collaboration
• Proficient in Epic electronic medical record documentation
• IV therapy and lab draw familiarity
• Ability to work effectively with ED techs, RT, pharmacy, and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong triage, assessment, and critical thinking abilities in acute care
