Shift Type: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts). Schedule set in 6-week blocks, includes 6-9 weekend night shifts per 6-week schedule; travelers expected to float and help fill gaps as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients across combination ICUs (MICU/SICU/TICU/CVICU)
• Safely titrate vasoactive drips, sedatives, paralytics and other critical infusions per unit protocols
• Manage ventilators and assist RT troubleshooting when needed to optimize respiratory care
• Interpret telemetry and cardiac strips independently and act promptly on changes in patient status
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including RTs and charge nurses, to coordinate complex care
• Serve as a reliable floater within the zone when staffing needs require flexibility
• Participate in unit orientation and precepting to maintain continuity and patient safety

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in Colorado (must be able to submit license)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; 3+ years ICU experience and Epic experience required if first-time traveler
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS required
• Comfortable titrating critical drips and managing high-acuity equipment (CRRT, IABP, Impella)
• Proficient with Epic charting system
• Ability to float across ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele as needed

Education

• Active RN licensure required. BSN is not required for this role.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and clinical decision-making
• Ventilator management and working knowledge of CPAP/BiPAP/High Flow devices
• Telemetry interpretation and arrhythmia recognition
• Experience with titration of pressors, sedatives, paralytics, insulin, heparin and more
• Familiarity with combination ICU patient populations and acuity-based nurse:patient ratios (1:1-2, flex to 1:3 when necessary)
• Team communication, delegation, and ability to function without monitor tech support
