Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and implement occupational therapy interventions with compassion and clinical skill
• Deliver meaningful, evidence-based treatments to improve patient independence with daily activities
• Document progress clearly and timely in the patient record and communicate updates to the care team
• Collaborate with occupational therapists, nurses and other disciplines to create coordinated care plans
• Educate patients and families on home programs and adaptive strategies to support recovery
• Maintain patient safety and equipment upkeep while promoting dignity and functional progress

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Current state licensure or ability to obtain Montana licensure for OTAs
• Clinical experience in rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or outpatient settings preferred
• Strong documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; patient-centered mindset

Education

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or equivalent program completion
• Required COTA credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL training, functional mobility and therapeutic activity design
• Familiarity with adaptive equipment and splinting basics
• Proficient patient assessment and goal-setting skills
• Solid documentation practices and clinical reasoning
• Good interpersonal skills for working with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
