Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' functional abilities and create personalized occupational therapy plans
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment programs to improve independence in ADLs
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs, and physicians to provide coordinated care
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques and home programs
• Advocate for patient needs and adapt plans to meet evolving clinical goals
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment and participate in interdisciplinary meetings

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in New Mexico or eligible to obtain state licensure
• NBCOT certification preferred or in-progress
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
• Travel/contract experience a plus, but enthusiastic clinicians new to travel are welcome
• Strong documentation skills and comfort using electronic health records
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Graduation from an accredited OT program and eligibility for state licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in functional assessments, ADL training, splinting, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Knowledge of rehab principles across post-acute and contract therapy settings
• Proficient clinical reasoning and patient-centered treatment planning
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and adjusting plans as needed
• Collaborative approach to interdisciplinary care and effective family education
