Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care for adult ICU patients with compassion and clinical excellence
• Monitor and assess patient status, respond to changes, and implement interventions promptly
• Manage med/surg overflow when needed, safely caring for increased patient loads
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Serve in charge nurse duties when assigned, coordinating care and supporting staff
• Float to other departments to assist as needed while maintaining safe patient assignments
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation and adherence to unit policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (state licensure or compact licensure as applicable)
• Minimum ICU/critical care experience with adult ICU care (experience with pediatrics when stable is required)
• PALS certification is mandatory
• Comfortable working 12-hour day or night shifts and the 72-hour every-two-weeks schedule
• Previous med/surg and charge nurse experience is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care and ICU nursing knowledge
• Experience with adult ICU patient assessment and monitoring
• Pediatrics experience for occasional stable pediatric patients
• Ability to manage acuity changes and prioritize effectively
• Team-oriented communication and leadership when assigned charge duties
