Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Med/Tele patient care for adults and geriatrics, including post-cath, EP studies, pacers, and medical cardiac patients
• Assess patients continuously and interpret cardiac telemetry strips accurately
• Titrate IV drips per protocol (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, low-dose dopamine) and monitor response
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including RTs, patient care techs, and telemetry/monitor techs
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment (BiPAP, trachs, Airvo) and escalate when needed
• Perform charge nurse duties when assigned, including light patient load and team coordination
• Float to support other areas as needed (PCU, medical-surgical, ER holds) and help maintain safe staffing

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current, active RN credentials (able to practice per state requirements)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• PCU experience is a must — comfortable providing progressive/PCU-level care
• Proven telemetry/cardiac nursing skills and ability to read and interpret strips
• Experience titrating drips and managing cardiac medication infusions
• Epic experience preferred (but not required for first-time travelers)
• Comfortable working rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekend and holiday rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• Titration and safe administration of cardiac/critical drips
• Familiarity with PCU and progressive care workflows
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (preferred)
• Respiratory troubleshooting: BiPAP, trach care, Airvo familiarity
• Team communication, delegation, and working with monitor/telemetry techs
• Charge nurse responsibilities and patient assignment oversight
