Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (day and night): 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM; 1:00 PM - 1:00 AM; 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Various days including weekends (every other weekend required) and holiday coverage as needed. Rotating schedule with occasional call; shift assignments based on unit needs.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform rapid, accurate triage and patient assessment to prioritize care
• Provide high-quality emergency and trauma care for a broad range of ER patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac strips and other telemetry data to guide treatment
• Administer treatments, draw labs and perform phlebotomy as needed
• Document patient care and communicate effectively using Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, RT, imaging, transport and support staff to coordinate patient flow
• Serve as an independent thinker in high-acuity situations and adapt to changing priorities
• Participate in unit orientation and contribute to a safe, efficient ER environment

Qualifications

• Current RN license (eligible candidates can apply for the 90-day Oregon Emergency License)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• Minimum 2-3 years of emergency department nursing experience (travelers must meet this)
• Comfortable managing a 1:3-4 patient ratio and handling trauma-level 4 cases
• Self-motivated, independent thinker with strong clinical judgment
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and triage best practices
• Trauma care and rapid patient assessment
• Cardiac monitoring and strip interpretation
• Phlebotomy and point-of-care testing
• Experience with Meditech EMR
• Coordination with imaging and transport teams
• Familiarity with respiratory therapy equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow)
• Charge nurse or leadership experience is a plus
