Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, primary day shift example 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; other shift options listed include 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM and 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM. Weekend requirement: every third weekend (nights Fri & Sat or days Sat & Sun depending on schedule). Holidays rotate.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for patients of all ages, prioritizing safety and clinical excellence
• Perform rapid assessments, initiate appropriate interventions, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team during acute events
• Utilize EPIC for accurate and timely documentation of patient care, orders, and communications
• Work seamlessly with EMTs, paramedics, and aides to coordinate patient flow and bedside care
• Support trauma and critical care processes consistent with a Level II trauma environment
• Participate in orientation and required skills validation, demonstrating competence on clinical exams

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (current)
• Minimum clinical experience in emergency nursing; the posting lists 2 years of experience
• Driver's license required at time of submittal
• Ability to pass orientation skills assessment (90% pass required per policy)
• Comfort working in an acute care, level II trauma ED with a diverse patient population

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing skills and triage capabilities
• Experience with EPIC electronic charting system
• Familiarity with trauma protocols and working with EMTs/paramedics
• Phlebotomy available on unit and ability to coordinate lab draws
• Clinical judgment across all ages and a fast-paced acute care setting
• Good communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills
