Roles & Responsibilities

• Process and prepare tissue specimens: embedding, microtomy and slide preparation with precision
• Perform immunohistochemistry (IHC) and run special stains to support diagnostic accuracy
• Operate and maintain Roche instrumentation and digital pathology systems to ensure reliable results
• Accurately document and track specimens and results in Epic Beaker
• Follow BLS and laboratory safety protocols to protect patients and staff
• Maintain high attention to detail and quality control in all histology procedures
• Participate in department orientation and collaborate with the Technical Coordinator and Lab Director
• Provide coverage as scheduled, including weekends and holidays when staffing is needed
• Communicate effectively with unit leadership and laboratory colleagues to support workflow

Qualifications

• ASCP HT or HLT certification (Histotechnician/Histotechnologist) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of histology experience required; 3 years preferred
• Experience with routine histology tasks: embedding and microtomy
• Proven experience with IHC, special stains, digital pathology and Epic Beaker
• Associate degree preferred
• Valid driver's license required (DL must be submitted); candidates should be within the 60 mile radius
