Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory tests across chemistry, blood bank, hematology and microbiology with accuracy and care
• Execute quality control procedures and document results to ensure reliable patient testing
• Operate and maintain clinical laboratory instrumentation, troubleshooting as needed
• Communicate test results and clinical findings clearly with physicians, nurses and patients
• Provide direction and supervision to Medical Laboratory Assistants and support staff
• Complete competency testing and participate in ongoing quality assurance activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field required
• Board eligible by NCA or ASCP at hire and must complete board certification within one year of employment
• MT (ASCP) or CLS (NCA) certification required within one year of employment
• One to three years of related experience in chemistry, blood bank, hematology and microbiology, or completion of a formal student internship
• Able to work independently, provide supervisory direction, and participate in competency testing
• Must meet required immunizations or provide acceptable titers/history (Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Tdap, Polio)
• Will complete background checks, national criminal check, drug screen within 90 days, and provide required ID and documentation prior to travel

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical laboratory instrumentation and hands-on maintenance
• Strong knowledge of quality control processes and documentation
• Technical expertise in chemistry, hematology, microbiology and blood bank testing
• Clear communication with clinical teams and patients
• Ability to work independently and guide support staff
• Competency testing and adherence to regulatory standards
