Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg unit
• Assess patient condition and intervene appropriately to promote recovery
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Document care clearly and timely in the patient record
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate when needed
• Support unit initiatives to improve quality, safety, and patient experience

Qualifications

• Current RN license (eligible to practice in Louisiana required)
• Experience or strong interest in Med/Surg nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Reliable, professional, and able to work collaboratively with a team
• Ability to pass required background and health screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of Med/Surg principles and patient care priorities
• Proficiency in medication administration and IV therapy basics
• Skilled in patient assessment, documentation, and clinical decision-making
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and clinical technology
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and team members
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
