Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents — bathing, dressing, grooming, and assisting with activities of daily living.
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility support, promoting dignity and independence.
- Take and record basic vital signs and report any changes in a resident’s condition to the nursing team.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
- Document care accurately and timely in accordance with facility policies.
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver consistent, person-centered care.
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (state-approved) — active and in good standing
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings/immunizations
- Compassionate, patient-focused attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- Reliable and punctual with the ability to follow facility policies and procedures
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current state CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in personal care and assistance with ADLs (activities of daily living)
- Basic vital signs monitoring and reporting
- Infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and team members
- Dependable documentation and basic charting skills
