Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a busy ED environment
• Provide focused patient assessment and manage initial resuscitation for critical patients
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation and AMI management interventions as indicated
• Manage telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac strips for prompt clinical action
• Troubleshoot vents and respiratory support devices, coordinating with RT for advanced interventions
• Perform wound care, splinting, IV starts and phlebotomy as part of comprehensive ED care
• Coordinate care and patient flow, including management of ED holds and transfers
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, RT, and ED techs to deliver high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (state licensure appropriate for Arizona)
• Minimum ~2 years Emergency Department nursing experience (as specified in the job description)
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• Demonstrated ability to perform triage and manage conscious sedation
• Strong critical thinking skills and experience with AMI management
• Comfortable reading telemetry and performing basic ventilator/respiratory troubleshooting

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Department nursing and trauma care fundamentals
• Triage and rapid patient assessment
• Telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip interpretation
• Vent troubleshooting, BiPAP, Vapotherm and high-flow oxygen therapy basics
• IV skills, phlebotomy, splinting and wound care
• Familiarity with ED workflows, crowding/hold management, and fast-track/intake models
• Ability to collaborate with Respiratory Therapy and other interdisciplinary team members
