Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in a medical unit
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the clinical record
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care needs
• Respond effectively to patient changes and urgent situations
• Follow facility and security protocols for a safe correctional healthcare environment

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (ability to hold/obtain California RN license preferred)
• BLS required; ACLS or other certifications a plus
• Available for a mandatory two-week training period with no time off during that block
• Comfortable working in a correctional healthcare setting and able to complete required screenings
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work the assigned Sunday-Thursday schedule

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Medication administration and IV care proficiency
• Skilled in documentation and electronic medical records
• Infection control and standard precautions expertise
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments
• Ability to follow security and safety procedures in a correctional facility
