Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, and use of assistive devices
• Document patient treatments, progress, and outcomes accurately and timely in the medical record
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to create and modify treatment plans that meet patient goals
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety strategies, and activity progression
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control and facility policies

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Active or eligible for New Mexico PTA licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
• Strong communication and patient coaching skills
• Reliable, professional, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced rehab setting

Education

• Associate degree or diploma from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers, and patient mobility techniques
• Proficient documentation and charting in clinical records
• Knowledge of safety procedures, body mechanics, and infection control
• Ability to follow care plans and modify interventions per supervising PT guidance
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient and team communication
