Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts (night), rotating schedule with every-other-weekend coverage and holiday requirements; includes on-call sign-ups (six-hour increments) totaling 18 hours of call per 6 weeks. Travelers expected to float to Postpartum as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality labor and delivery care for high-risk OB patients, managing labor progression and emergent situations
• Circulate in the OR for C-sections, coordinating with surgical techs and anesthesia for smooth, safe procedures
• Perform continuous fetal monitoring and interpret fetal strips using GE Corometrics to guide clinical decisions
• Titrate critical infusions (oxytocin, magnesium sulfate) safely per orders and unit protocols
• Lead neonatal stabilization and initial resuscitation (NRP) when needed and coordinate transfer to Level III NICU resources
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure continuity of care and clear communication
• Float to Postpartum as needed, providing compassionate postpartum care and patient education

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to submit for Colorado assignments)
• Minimum 2 years of high-risk Labor & Delivery experience (explicit requirement)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Prior experience circulating in the OR for C-sections and working with surgical techs
• Comfort titrating drips such as oxytocin and magnesium sulfate
• Experience with EPIC charting and reading fetal monitor strips (GE Corometrics preferred)
• Ability to float to Postpartum and work weekends/holidays as scheduled
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; comfortable collaborating with anesthesia, APPs, and neonatology teams

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN: Not required (BSN Required: No as stated); ADN or diploma acceptable

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor & Delivery clinical management including high-risk presentations (pre-eclampsia, IDM, antepartum complications)
• Fetal monitoring interpretation and electronic fetal monitoring (GE Corometrics)
• OR circulation for obstetric surgery and sterile technique
• Medication titration and infusion management (oxytocin, magnesium sulfate)
• Neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and initial stabilization practices
• EPIC electronic charting proficiency
• Familiarity with AWHONN guidelines and unit ratio practices
• Ability to work with surgical teams, anesthesia, and neonatal APPs
