Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg patients with focus and attention
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document changes clearly and timely
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following policies and best practices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and discharge instructions
• Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers while maintaining continuity of care
• Maintain accurate electronic health record documentation and handoffs

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse license (Georgia license or applicable compact licensure preferred)
• Experience or clinical background in Medical-Surgical nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or other certifications a plus
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Professional communication and teamwork skills to collaborate in a busy unit
• Ability to meet facility onboarding requirements and credentialing

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and safe medication administration
• Proficiency with patient assessment, wound care and post-op care basics
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems and accurate charting
• Skilled at patient/family education and clear clinical communication
• Ability to triage, escalate and follow through on patient care needs
