Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' functional abilities and design individualized occupational therapy plans
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to optimize independence in activities of daily living
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and therapists to coordinate comprehensive care
• Document assessments, progress, and discharge plans accurately in Cerner
• Support patients and families with education and strategies for home safety and recovery
• Participate in unit meetings and contribute clinical expertise to care planning

Qualifications

• Valid state Occupational Therapist license (required to submit)
• Minimum 2 years of experience, with acute care experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience using Cerner or similar electronic health record systems
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Acute care occupational therapy best practices
• Proficiency with Cerner charting and electronic documentation
• Assessment of ADLs, mobility, and safe discharge planning
• Skilled in adaptive equipment recommendations and training
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Time management and the ability to prioritize caseloads effectively
